Life's Little Pleasures

As humans, we always strive for happiness. We believe , it comes in various forms. In the form of success, in the form of family, respect, friendship and so on. There is always a constant desire in our heart, to seek out happiness- life long happiness. But, unfortunately, life is a bitter-sweet journey.
It never is constant and we are never content with what it we have.

The race for perfection has made humans to find happiness in material thing. We believe it comes along with money, power and status. But, life's little pleasures are always present , scattered all around. We need only to look around. In this time of disorder, what we require is a reminder of the same.

I once knew an old man, who used to come to our home. His family was poor, and they lived in a house with only two rooms. Whenever I see him, he had this beautiful smile, which enlightens his face. There were many hardships for them and his wife always talked about. She was complaining about not having a proper home, their son who cannot stick to any work, the daughter-in-law who does not feed her three kids properly . The wife was always calculating and contemplating their situation, while he talked about his grandson's naughtiness and grand daughters innocence. The impression these conversations had was huge, while we loved the wife, we awaited for his talks. As it bought smiles on all. My Mother once said, we all have difficulties in life, but it is important for us to remember the little things that brings smiles to all, like the old man. He never ever said anything about his worries, but always talked endlessly about the pleasures in life.

The reason, why we always worry, is because we think of ourselves as something of matter. But, what matters most is the friendship, the love, the smiles we have with one another. Those little pleasures, which makes us live , those small moments which makes us feel good. Oh! how we forget it easily, but shouldn't that be the one to always cherish.
